About Michael Lao:
Background:
Michael Lao is a seasoned music educator and performer with a deep commitment to fostering musical talent. With extensive experience in [specific area, e.g., brass, woodwinds, percussion], Michael has worked with numerous ensembles and educational institutions, bringing a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to every role.
Education and Experience:
Michael holds a B.M. in Music Education with a specialization from Barry University, where he graduated with a GPA of 3.92, earning a spot on both the President’s List and Dean’s List. He also has an A.A. in Business Administration from Miami-Dade College. Michael's professional journey includes serving as the Director of Percussion at West Broward High School and the Assistant Director/Instructor for FIU Indoor Percussion. His experience includes composing and arranging music, establishing and maintaining audio systems, and coordinating travel logistics.
Role at Legacy Production Company:
At Legacy Production Company, Michael will be taking on the role of Percussion Ensemble Specialist. In this capacity, he will provide expert advice on percussion techniques, show design, and music selection, aligning with the artistic vision of Legacy. Michael will also mentor the Battery Coordinator and Front Ensemble Coordinator, offering advanced instruction to enhance their technical and leadership capabilities. Additionally, he will oversee logistical arrangements for rehearsals, performances, and tours, ensuring efficient resource use and smooth operations.
